Two new products (new to us) arrived from the Big Brown Truck, straight from Amazon.com! Voila! Happiness.
Our OT (she told me in advance) ordered one for the two youngest kids. The other, came straight from the County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
We did not have to pay for one of these (I am so thankful for Delaware County in Ohio, USA). Thank God for our tax dollars at work. Also, I’m thankful for technology. Let me explain…
They also make a children’s version of this, if you have a younger child this may be helpful. My kid’s are eight and eleven, so the OT opted for the adult version. The youngest likes to identify more with her older siblings, sigh. This version costs around $150.00.
Here is the younger child’s version: Kolibree Smart Toothbrush with Games. Sonic toothbrush Educates Kids with Live Feedback and Interactive App. This one is also around $150.00.
Lastly, if you are like several of my pals, and only the very best that money can buy is all that you can give your child; then see this last tricked out toothbrush. Here is the grandiose child’s vibrating toothbrush: Kolibree Smart Toothbrush with Games. Sonic toothbrush Educates Kids with Live Feedback and Interactive App by Kolibree
The good thing about these toothbrushes that I love, is they come with apps. The fist adult version, shows where the kid’s have missed brushing their teeth. (This one just went out of stock). It was around $270.00.
The bad thing I hate about this toothbrush is ACTUALLY getting the kid’s to use the app to see where they missed brushing their teeth.
The toothbrushes are supposed to motivate children to brush their teeth. My kids do brush their teeth better with them. However, they are all over $100.00. I think they would do just as well with an inexpensive store bought version. The apps have gone to waste. Let me expound.
The only way my kids would have used the app, is if they played the app games. Even then, it might be a stretch. Although, judge if you must, Rabid Rabbits have always been a favorite at our house.
My kid’s are in a hurry when they brush their teeth. They do not want to take the time to check.
The answer to this I have found that is working, is to have the kid’s brush well right after dinner. At that time, an aid is normally here. He can get the kid’s to slow down and brush their teeth well.
We use the first, “Brush your teeth for 2 minutes,” then we can play outside or what not, strategy. I learned this through ABA.
Try to get one of these toothbrushes. They look rewarding and fun! Buy through my links, my kids all thank you in advance!
You might wonder why the county would get us security cameras. Listen to this! These cameras alert my phone (yep, there is an app for that), when someone moves in front of the cameras. They cost $139.99 and are on Amazon Prime.
I have certain cameras, the door way ones, to be exact, set up to be on “high alert.” These are extremely sensitive to movement.
A couple cameras only alert me if movement occurs in the night! Some of you might not understand what a “Game Changer,” this is for us. Let me explain.
In the posts: Ghetto Trip Problem Solved, Elopement Made My Butt Hurt, and Momma Lost Some Junk In Her Trunk; you can get this gist of why we needed these cameras. Early this summer, my youngest eloped far. It is a terrible heart wrenching story that I can’t share YET.
But, after she ran blocks away from us (I had to get in the van to try to catch up), the county asked what they could do. I rent, consequently, they couldn’t have locks installed. These non permanent cameras are amazing!
Both of these products have apps with them. Technology helps our kids so much!
What products are helping your loved ones? I would love to hear. Please share in the comments below.
Thank you for stopping by today. Please come again soon. Blessings, to you and yours today and always,
